Being able to interpret body language is vital in decoding the opposite sex. Men and women have very different courtship behaviours, so it is important that you decode them right.

Decoding Women

If a woman gives you eye contact, she is interested in you. Eye contact shows that she is giving you her full attention, and she is interested in what you have to say. Along with eye contact, the classic head tilt and continuous smiling also indicates her interest.

The most obvious sign that a woman is in to you is through a physical touch. If she touches your hands or arms, she is comfortable and feels a close connection to you.

Looking and leaning away indicates that she is just not that in to you. Loosely crossing her arms will add to this revealing that she is closed and not interested in the conversation.

Fidgeting signals discomfort and anxiety. It reveals that she is nervous and not quite sure whether or not she is interested, so keep an eye out for other signals that may help you decode her.

Decoding Men

If he is using big arm gestures whilst talking to you he is trying to gain your attention. He is definitely interested in you and wants to keep your attention at all costs.

Laughter is a great sign of relaxation. If he is laughing at your jokes you know that you have his full attention, which also indicates he is interested. If you find that he is leaning towards you and you feel that he is closer than necessary, you can assure you have him hooked.

If he puts his hands in his pockets, he is closed-off and not very interested. Locked ankles and crossed arms are also negative emotions that can indicate he is just not that in to you.

If you see him checking his watch on a regular basis, you will know that he is bored and is ready to go.

There will be times where you will receive mixed signals which are both positive and negative. This indicates that they are unsure if they are interested. Once you begin to see more consistency, you will then have the answer. It's important to remember that men and women are completely different, so these tips will help you decode the opposite sex and determine if you would further pursue the person in interest.
