When in the search for love, do we stick to our extensive checklist disallowing us to make any changes to our idea of the perfect partner? Even though it is great to have standards, but it is also important to remember that the ideal person in our mind may not always be the ideal person when we meet them.

What do you do if someone comes along, and ticks all the right boxes but there is only one small problem - they have baggage? This can throw your checklist out the window. It can be difficult getting to know someone when trying to pursue a relationship, but throwing children in the equation can make everything change. For some, it may not be a big deal if he or she has children and for others it can be a challenge to comprehend.

When dating someone with baggage, it can mean that their attention is not always towards you. There can be feelings that you are competing with other people in their life for some love. If you decide to pursue a relationship, it is alway important that they will always have other responsibilities in their life that cannot be changed but it does not mean they can not love another.

If you really enjoy the company and feel that the person is worth it, then children should not be the reason that you decide not pursue the relationship. Do your part and have a relationship with their children. It is important to remember that this is not only a challenge for you, but also for the children and the parent. They too, may feel that they are competing for attention and love. You will never be able to replace their mother or father but being a caring person in their life will make lie easier for everyone.

These relationship dynamics that are not always the norm may not work for everyone, however, it is always a great idea to give it a try. Don't be afraid when you hear the word children, it may give you a new understanding of life and love.

A relationship is complicated enough without children in the mix, however it can work. He or she can be perfect even if they have baggage.
