Romancing Myself

Today I'm taking myself for a drive. I've prepared a cd with music to get me in the mood. I'm taking myself to a spot by the ocean, a place where I can sit on a rocky cliff side and be close to the sea, feel the breeze through my hair and breathe in the fresh salty air.

I'm going to sit with my thoughts and tell myself what's great about me. I'll remind myself of why I am worthy of good things, and make some promises.

A promise to love myself from this day forward, and to offer me all of the finest things. To work hard to make me happy, and show myself how much I care.

I think that from time to time we need to remind ourselves that we are loved by the one true person who counts. If we don't love ourselves, we can't ever truly allow others to.

Today I'm going to reconnect, and fall in love again. I'll be alone, but I'll also be reuniting with my best friend.
