Every relationship is different and getting to know your partner in the first twelve months can be challenging. Surviving the first year is a crucial time in a relationship. This time will allow you to decide whether he or she is the right one for you.
Your first fight is not an indication of the relationship dynamics
It is normal in every relationship to have a fight. Don’t let the first one end your relationship, especially if it is over something silly. A fight once in a while is normal, however if you are continuously butting heads and are always disagreeing, this is when you should both consider if the relationship is good for the both of you.
Spend time with your own friends
Early on a in a relationship many of us want to spend every spare minute with our boyfriends and girlfriend, however it is vital to not forget about everyone else in your life. It is important to spend time with your own friends and family and now suffocate your partner. You don’t want to get sick of them in the first twelve months.
Make time for their family and friends
Besides hanging out with your own friends and family, start making time for your partner’s family and friends and ensure they make time for yours. It is great to meet other people in their lives.
Give compliments
Don’t be afraid to say how nice they look in what they are wearing. Many of us forget about these little things and can help make the relationship flourish in the first twelve months.
The first 12 months will help you determine if you and your partner are suited for one another. There will always been speed humps along the way as you are both learning what each other have to offer.
