Are Toopa writers paid?
Every month we take a percentage of advertising revenue and place it in a writer pool for the following month. This amount can be seen by all writers.
By writing and submitting articles you'll earn points, with the amount determined by the length of the article and an editor score. You'll also earn points every time someone reads one of your articles.
At the end of the month the writer pool is distributed based on how many points each writer earned, and a new pool is created for the following month.
Although Toopa is new (launched in August 2022), it is the eventual successor to WeekendNotes.com which was founded in 2008 and has been home to thousands of writers over the last decade or more. Toopa will be run in a similar manner to WeekendNotes.
Note that writers resident in Australia for tax purposes will need to submit an ABN to receive payment.
