The Next Step

How I long to kiss him,
To hug, embrace and hold,
If only I dared relax,
Let our love unfold.

A connection is there,
Expressed in words we share,
Yes we have feelings,
For each other we care.

Both scared about the next step,
Longing to share more,
But fearing a broken heart,
That pain suffered before.
