'I look really great today' has become 'I hate the shape of my hips.'

'I feel confident in myself' has become 'I wish I was someone else.'

Approaching someone in the streets just simply isn't done anymore because we're all lacking (either a little or a lot) of confidence in ourselves and our appearance.

We've all become so quick to judge ourselves for every little aspect of our looks. Hair colour, body shape, and skin tone - even the tiniest things like freckles are being over-analysed, because we're worried we aren't attractive to others and we aren't loveable because of our flaws.

It's time to take control of how you feel about yourself and stop worrying about how others will take us. Everyone is beautiful, and someone out there will see that in each and every one of us with time. You are just how you should be, and no-one can tell you otherwise.

A helpful tip to learn how to self love: say one of these confidence boosters every day to yourself, and really mean it.

  • I am worthy of another person's affection

  • I am attractive

  • I am confident in myself

  • I love my (feature that you truly do love about yourself)
