Double dating can be easy and fun, but simultaneously it can be complicated and bring out insecurities. If you are going on a double date, be aware of the do's and don'ts that will allow you to enjoy your outing much more than anticipated.
Knowing Tastes
Pick a restaurant that you all agree on. The worst thing is to pick a restaurant that someone doesn’t like or cannot eat due to their food allergies. Making sure you are all happy with the choice of restaurant will start the date well instead of making it awkward.
Don’t Be Touchy Feely
When you are with another couple, keep the public displays of affection with your partner to a bare minimum. It might make the other couple feel uncomfortable.
Make Sure Your Partner Is Comfortable
You do not want to go on a date where your partner does not feel comfortable with the other couple. Ask your partner before making plans, as it can be quite awkward for them, especially if they have nothing in common with the other couple. Double dating is all about having fun with others; instead this could end in drama.
Don’t Discuss Private Issues
If you and your partner are having personal issues, it is not the best idea to be sharing those with others. Don’t go into your private lives as it can cause more issues with your partner and put the other couple in a predicament.
Light Hearted Conversations
Keep all conversations light hearted when you are double dating. This is supposed to be a fun experience where you can all have a laugh and enjoy yourselves. Serious conversations don’t go too well in a double date scenario, instead it could cause arguments or make people feel uncomfortable.
Out Of Mind Out Of Sight
Smart phones must be out of sight. Do not get distracted by your phone, as it can be quite disrespectful and rude. If you are on your phone, you obviously feel that the night is pretty boring. The only reasons you should have your phone near by is if you have an emergency. Don’t ruin the double date by being antisocial.
There are so many do’s and don’ts to live by. As long as you are respectful to the other couple and you get along, you will have a good time. These little tips will make it that little bit better! Enjoy!
