Women Making the First Move

Many people have preconceived ideas that men should always make the first move. However, we are living in the 21st century, where women have more independence, freedom and equality. Hence, there are no reasons why the man should always make the first move.

However, there seems to be a common thread as to why women do not insinuate the first move. Many women think that if a guy is really interested then they will chase. Conversely, some women don’t make the first move because they do not want to seem desperate and some purely want a confident man that asks for what he wants.

Guys can sometimes be apprehensive to ask a girl out due to a number of reasons; so don’t be afraid to ask yourself. Even though men do like to chase, men also love when women swoon over them. There is nothing to loose if you make the first move, but it is important that you make the first move with class in order to avoid looking desperate.

Asking a guy out for coffee is the best way to make the first move. Coffee is a casual way to meet up and a guy can rarely turn this down. It is always easier to organise a casual coffee date rather than a formal dinner date which can be too forward when you are unsure whether they are into you too or not.

If you do not want to ask a guy out directly, you can always ask an indirect question such as ‘we should go out sometime’. Hopefully you will get a positive response from him which may result in a date being organised sooner than you intended.

If you are infatuated with a work colleague, tell him you need help with something at work. This will lead to spending extra time with him and then you can thank him by buying him lunch one day.

However you decide to make that move, be confident and show your inner ‘Sasha Fierce’. Men like it when women are not afraid. At the end of the day, you have nothing to lose! Remember you will never know unless you try!
