First Date Etiquette

Whether you are going to the movies or out for dinner, it is normal to feel nervous on a first date. First date etiquette is extremely important to help you make a good impression.
Time Etiquette
First and foremost, arriving on time is a must. If you are unsure of where you are going, leave earlier just in case you get lost or run into some traffic. Sometimes you cannot help being late, so the best thing to do is to call your date and tell them you are on the way. This will avoid them thinking that you have stood them up.
Conversation Etiquette
Keeping the conversation light will calm the nerves. Don’t make the conversation in depth or too heavy. Instead keep it positive. Always be polite and listen to what your date has to say by using eye contact.
Ordering Etiquette
Don’t order for your date. If they ask for your opinion, suggest some great items on the menu. Your date may have certain dietary requirements or allergies, so don’t assume they like the same foods as you.
Phone Etiquette
Put your phone away. Don’t take phone calls; don’t reply to messages, and definitely don’t go on any social media pages. These are all complete turn offs, and your date will think you are bored and not interested.
Money Etiquette
Take money with you. It would be quite embarrassing if you rock up with no money, and your date decides to split the bill.
Alcohol Etiquette
Be aware of your alcohol consumption. You may be nervous on your first date, and you may forget to take note of what glass you are up to. Be conscious of how much you are drinking, and keep it to a minimum so you do not embarrass yourself in any way.
First impressions always last. Ensure that you follow such first date etiquettes to make your date a great experience.
