Relationship Rules To Live By

Every relationship is different, but they all have the same underlying values of love and trust. Even though we are all individuals and make our own rules when it comes to love and relationships, there are some rules that we can all use that will help a relationship become stronger.

Love Yourself
If you do not love yourself, you will find it difficult to find someone that will love you. If you open your heart to love, you are opening your heart to others. People can sense how you are feeling and whether or not you are willing to give your love.

Never Want Someone That Doesn’t Want You
This type of relationship will never work. If you do not want the same things, there is no commitment. If these feelings are felt at the beginning of the relationship, face up to these issues. If you don’t, it is only a recipe for disaster and much more heartache down the track.

Like Who You Are When You Are With Them
Being in a relationship shouldn’t change you. Instead, a relationship should make you a better person. If you begin to show signs of negativity and avoiding all your friends and family, think about whether it is a negative or positive relationship.

Be A Team Player
It is important to be a team player. There are two in a relationship and it cannot always be one person’s way. Compromise is the key. If you can work together to come to a common goal or agreement, you are doing well. Taking the time to listen to one another is important ensuring that you appreciate what you both have to offer.

It is important to understand that relationships can be tricky and there are always going to be ups and downs. The most important thing is that you are both happy.

Don’t be naïve and don’t second-guess yourself. You are the judge of your relationship, but having these few rules in your relationship notebook will allow you to be wiser and know when it is right or wrong.
