Have you moved on from your ex but he or she has not moved on from you? This can be a challenging time for you as it can be difficult for you to completely move on, and, erase them from your life. Dealing with your ex when they keep showing up in your life is a skill to have, especially so they do not manipulate you to get back together. Here are a few tips to help you deal with that reoccurring ex.

Scenario #1 Your Ex Is Spreading Rumours About You
This is simple - laugh the rumours off. Obviously they have nothing better to do than try to ruin your life. Do not let these stupid words get you down. Always remember ‘sticks and stones…’

Scenario #2 Your Ex Keeps Contacting You
Ignore him or her to avoid falling back into a relationship that you do not want to get back into. Do not give in. Don’t answer their calls; do not give them the time of day.

If you find that they call and text you continuously and ignoring them does not work, it is time for option B. Answer their calls or texts and remind them that you have broken up with them. Make them aware that you two are not together anymore.

If worse comes to worse and talking does not help them stay away, it is now time to change your phone number so they cannot contact you anymore.

To ensure they cannot make contact with you any other way, make sure you do not have them on any social media platforms including Instagram and Facebook. Block them from every aspect of your life, as this will allow you to move on and give them the hint that you do not want to get back together.

Scenario #3 You Bump Into Your Ex On One Occasion
When you bump into each other be cordial. Make sure they know you are happy and do not allow them to think that you want to get back together. They may purposely have gone to the same area as you frequent just so they had the chance to bump into you.

Scenario #4 You Keep Bumping Into Your Ex
All of a sudden you keep bumping into your ex in places you never thought were possible. Obviously they are trying to get your attention by bumping into you. If this occurs, it is best to stay away from your usual hang out spots that they know about such as your local shopping centre, cafe or supermarket. The less you see them, the better.

This is also a great time for you to take a holiday, whether it is just down to the beach or an overseas trip. If your ex does not see you around for a little while, they might stop going to your local areas.

These are only a few scenarios one may go through. Always be the better person, but at the same time do not let your ex play a role in your current life. Remember, they are your ex for a reason.
